About Sanjay

Sanjay Suchak is a professional photographer based in Washington, DC and Buffalo, NY and is available for editorial and commercial assignments worldwide. Originally from Buffalo, NY, he attended the State University of New York at Geneseo and the Universitat de Barcelona and holds a B.A. in International Relations and Business.

Cutting his teeth as a music photographer he photographed some of the biggest names in music including The Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, The Allman Brothers Band, Ben Folds, Wilco, and many more. Since then he has traveled around the world building a broad base of clients and working with not only musicians but publications, NGO's, corporations, public agencies, and educational institutions. When not behind the camera he can be usually found camping in West Virginia, browsing in a used record store, or reading a good book.

Current projects include documenting Washington, DC in the project "The District" using digital and a 4x5 view camera to capture the other side of one of the most visited cities in the world. Additionally he is working on a documentary project about rural West Virginia, it's people, and it's caves.

Sanjay is the staff photographer at Montgomery College in Maryland as well as a contributing photographer for GratefulWeb.com and Prefix Magazine.
